WINSTON CHURCHILL
(November 30, 1874 - January 24, 1965)
'Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.'

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was one of the greatest personalities of the 20th century. A soldier, journalist, artist, author, politician, and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, Churchill served as Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1940-1945 and again from 1951-1955. His stubbornness and courageousness, expressed in his evocative and stirring speeches during the dark years of the Second World War, emboldened the Allies as he led the British from the brink of defeat to victory against the Axis Powers.
