'The best interpretation of Kierkegaard to date' - The Kierkegaard Review

SOREN KIERKEGAARD
(May 5, 1813 - November 11, 1855)
This Danish philosopher set the stage for modern existentialism. A devout Christian, Kierkegaard was bitterly critical of the church, the mindless 'crowd', and Hegelian rationalism. His main themes were despair and faith. Ultimately, according to Kierkegaard, one can only overcome despair by making an irrational leap of faith. This leap is a highly personal and difficult decision.
