Frida Kahlo Little Thinker

Frida Kahlo was so different from all others in so many respects, that we're not certain if she ever played with dolls when she was a child. Nevertheless, we've turned Frida herself into a doll that we believe captures her artistic sprit and flare for life. The Frida Kahlo Little Thinker Doll stands about 11 inches tall and wears a traditional Mexican outfit, complete with skirt, blouse, scarf, and even her trademark flowers in her hair. She also has a pretty intense expression on her face which, if we had to translate, would be saying something like, "What, you don't like my paintings? I couldn't care less."

'My favorite doll.' -- Diego Rivera

FRIDA KAHLO
(July 6, 1907 - July 13, 1954)
A Mexican painter deeply influenced by indigenous culture, Kahlo suffered a series of physical traumas. She contracted polio at age 6, and at 19 sustained injuries in a bus accident from which she was plagued by extreme pain for the rest of her life. Her tumultuous marriage with painter Diego Rivera led her to take many lovers, male and female, including revolutionary Leon Trotsky. Drawing on her personal life, Kahlo's work is characterized by its stark portrayal of pain.

Title: A hot little Hispanic Number!
Frieda is one of my favorite Little Thinkers. She is truly beautiful and exquisitely dressed. She has great hair and a very "Frieda" facial expression. She wants me to buy her Van Gogh Little Thinker, so she can play with his ear! She is one of my very favorites.

Title: Frida Kahlo Little Thinker
I received this doll as a gift from my husband years ago and fell in love with Frida and many other products from the Unemployed Philosopher's collection. Frida is a colorful addition to any environment and I recently purchased one for an artist friend of mine who absolutely loved her. We found a small wrought iron chair to perch her in and she sits on top of her red microwave and is the focus of her kitchen/living area. I do miss the pearl necklace she used to wear but understand it is a "child safety" issue but really... this doll is also for grownups as are many of the "Little Thinkers" in your collection. (I actually found a tiny pearl necklace at a craft store and put in on her) Your products are a hoot and are a must for anyone who has a great sense of humor and is looking for a gift that is different and bound to give a good chuckle. Keep up the great work...we need more great things like this to keep us smiling!!!
