'Well, I've often seen a cat without a grin,' thought Alice, 'but a grin without a cat is the most curious thing!'  

We don't know what Lewis Carroll was drinking when he wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but we're pretty sure it wasn't tea or coffee. From the Caterpillar with the hookah to the Mad Hatter, his characters were as "out there" as Carroll himself. The Cheshire Cat Mug celebrates one of our favorite Wonderland characters. Pour any hot liquid into this mug and the cat disappears, leaving only his famous grin! It's guaranteed to leave a smile on your face, too.

The Cheshire Cat is one of the characters Alice encounters in 'Alice in Wonderland.' The Cat engages Alice in amusing but vexing conversation and can appear and disappear at will, sometimes leaving just its head or grin. Sir John Tenniel (1820 - 1914), a well known cartoonist in the late nineteenth century, penned the original illustration.

Title: Disappearing Cheshire Cat Mug

I never put my mug in the dishwasher. I really loved it, but I did leave it overnight in a basin of cold dish water, which caused everything but the cat to float away the next morning. Why don't you tell people not to leave it in water of any kind?

     UPG RESPONSE: Our mugs are not dishwasher safe, and also can't be soaked in water. (Not holding up to soaking in water is why they're not dishwasher safe.) We state this clearly on each mug box and in a piece of paper inserted into every mug.

LOVED this mug. Such a nice design. Used once, noticed some letters were missing after wash (followed directions). Was hesitant to use it again, as I love it. The second time I used it, I washed in cool water with minimal soap, no cloth on the outside, but when I rinsed, lost half of the pattern. So good mug I guess if you never use it.
I was pretty dissatisfied.

     UPG RESPONSE: If you don't soak the mug for a long time it really does last for years. call us and we'll send you a new one.

It's great for cat lovers--the Cheshire cat disappears when hot liquids are poured in, and he/she reappears as you drink or it cools. My six cat owner sister loves it!
