BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
(January 17, 1706 - April 17, 1790)
Few men have done as much for the world as Benjamin Franklin. While he was a tireless and persuasive statesman and diplomat, Franklin also distinguished himself as a scientist, inventor, printer, newspaper editor and author. Franklin played a crucial role in the birth of the United States, helping to draft the Declaration of Independence and to end the American Revolution with his involvement in the drafting of the Peace of Paris.
