Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson once said, "Beauty is not caused. It is." As much as we admire Ms. Dickinson's work, we have to disagree with her on this one. We happen to think our Emily Dickinson Little Thinker Doll is quite beautiful, and we take full credit for "causing" it. We lovingly designed it to capture Emily's understated elegance and depth of character. She is about 11 inches tall and wears the white dress that she was known to wear. Let the Emily Dickinson Doll be your constant companion, your confidante, and your muse.

'What a doll.' -- William Dean Howells

EMILY DICKINSON
(December 10, 1830 - May 15, 1886)
Born to a prominent family in Amherst, Massachusetts, Emily Dickinson was an outgoing child but grew into an introspective and reclusive adult. Nevertheless, she wrote beautiful, perceptive poetry that revealed her amazing insight into what it means to be alive. Dickinson is considered the quintessential American poet, yet almost none of her more than 1,700 poems were published until after her death.

Title: My Little Emily
I think that the Emily Dickinson Little Thinker Doll is really a joy. I have her sitting on pillows in my office. When I place her next to the famous photo of Emily, I have to say, "That's her!" She makes me laugh, and she keeps me smiling. I want to get the Freud Little Thinker for my shrink! She too has a great sense of humor.

Title: Prim and Proper Poetess
We needed a poet for our Little Thinker family, so we chose Emily. She is quite nicely dressed, and we love her hair. She is a very cooperative sort and is keeping Frank Lloyd Wrgiht Little Thinker company. He is quite entranced with her.
